T MAX+: A Narrative Review of Human Evidence for Mineral and Botanical Ingredients Relevant to Stress Resilience, Physical Performance, Recovery, Hormonal Physiology and General Wellbeing

Abstract

T MAX+ is a multi-ingredient nutraceutical for adults that brings together magnesium and zinc with Withania somnifera, Trigonella foenum-graecum, Panax ginseng, Bacopa monnieri, Mucuna pruriens, Chlorophytum borivilianum, Lentinula edodes and piperine. This narrative review synthesises the human evidence for those ingredients across the physiological domains associated with the formulation: stress resilience, fatigue, strength and physical performance, muscle recovery, maintenance of healthy hormonal physiology and general wellbeing. PubMed/MEDLINE was searched to August 2026, prioritising systematic reviews, meta-analyses and randomised placebo-controlled trials, and the daily doses used in the source studies are reported alongside their results. Withania somnifera carries the broadest randomised evidence: pooled analyses report reductions in perceived stress, anxiety and serum cortisol, a muscle-strength effect of SMD 0.58 (95% CI 0.12–1.04) that rises to SMD 1.03 (0.56–1.49) in physically active participants, an overall exercise-performance effect of Hedges’ g 0.47 (0.25–0.69) with aerobic endurance the strongest subgroup, and a modest positive pooled effect on testosterone. Trigonella foenum-graecum has randomised androgen, resistance-training and menopausal findings at 500–600 mg/day. Panax ginseng has pooled fatigue evidence together with randomised cognitive and menopausal findings, and Bacopa monnieri has memory and stress-reactivity evidence at 300–450 mg/day. Magnesium has controlled recovery and premenstrual data and a recognised role in energy metabolism, while zinc has repletion evidence relevant to normal testosterone alongside immune and menstrual-comfort findings. Mucuna pruriens, Chlorophytum borivilianum, Lentinula edodes and piperine contribute more focused human evidence in stress-related male reproductive physiology, walk-distance performance, immune measures and pharmacokinetics respectively. Ingredient-specific safety considerations are set out for responsible use. Collectively, the ingredient literature identifies several physiological domains of potential relevance to the formulation; but these findings do not establish efficacy of the finished combination, for which no randomised controlled trial has yet been conducted.
