Abstract

The present study is the most feasible approach to control the gastric residence time using gastroretentive dosage forms with required efficacy, safety and stability of the drug. Three different grades of Hydroxypropyl Methyl cellulose, Lactose, Sodium bicarbonate and Magnesium stearate were used as a variant with Captopril as active pharmaceutical ingredient. The tablets were prepared by direct compression method. Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC) studies showed that no polymorphic changes occurred during manufacturing of tablets. Observations of all formulations for
