Formulation in-vitro evaluation of herbal hydrogel by using “ricinus communis” leaf extract

Abstract

The present study was carried out to formulate “Herbal Hydrogel” by using “Methanolic” and “Petroleum ether”

extracts of “Ricinuscommunis” leaves, to explore the drug release based on the type and concentration of

“Polymers” used in the formulation. Formulation was made by methanolic and petroleum ether extracts of

Ricinuscommunisand made into gel form. The extract was subjected to preliminary phytochemical screening which

indicates the presence of flavanoids, tannins and terpenoids. Isolation of flavonoids was done which consists anti

inflammatory activity and by using flavonoids Hydrogel were prepared and the evaluation studies of each

formulations were compared.
